Details: The Sweet Retreat reopened for the season on Tuesday, April 18. According to the ice cream shop’s Facebook page, they offer three different flavors of ice cream nachos in two sizes. Customers can order Raspberry Cheesecake, Minto Oreo or Peanut Butter Heart Attack in a small or large quantity.
Last year, The Sweet Retreat held an Ice Cream Nacho competition. Employees created specialty nachos ideas and the public voted for their favorite to be added to the menu. The winner was Iced Caramel Latte Nachos featuring coffee ice cream, caramel drizzle and crunchy caramel topping. The shop also featured specialty nachos during shark week last year.
Hours of operation are 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
2. Arrow Queen 🍦
Location: 431 N. Main St. in New Carlisle
Details: Arrow Queen, an ice cream shop that has been in Clark County for over 50 years, has offered ice cream nachos for three years.
A post on the shop’s Facebook page yesterday said customers can choose any two toppings or candy for the nachos and whipped cream and nuts are included. Nearly three hours later, the shop announced they sold the entire case of waffle ice cream nachos. Luckily, another case is scheduled for today.
Spring hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
3. JD’s Old Fashioned Frozen Custard 🍦

Location: 322 Union Blvd. Suite A in Englewood
Details: JD’s Old Fashioned Frozen Custard features ice cream nachos on Wednesdays and calls it “Waffle Nacho Wednesday,” but manager Cindy Gress said customers can get them any day. The shop has been serving nachos since last year. They make their own waffle cones and use the same mix to make the nachos.
Customers can order the nachos by choosing any flavor of custard as well as any topping.
JD’s Old Fashioned Frozen Custard is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
4. Ducky’s Snowballs and Ice Cream 🍦
Location: 100 W. Market St. in Troy
Details: Ducky’s Snowballs and Ice Cream has introduced an ice cream nacho sundae. According to a Facebook post on the ice cream shop’s page, the sundae features vanilla soft serve over waffle cone chips and topped off with strawberries, chocolate chips and spearmint coconut. Owner Donald Butler said customers can customize the sundae in any way. He explained that he saw someone doing a nacho sundae on the west coast and wanted to bring it to the Dayton area.
“Every ice cream shop has broken cones, so we try to reuse as much as we can,” Butler said. “We’re so busy that I don’t make my own chips, so we just use broken cones.”
The ice cream shop’s spring hours are 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Location: 230 Market St. in Brookville
Details: What’s The Scoop has confirmed the ice cream nachos that were once a secret menu item starting in the summer of 2022 have been officially added to the menu.
The nachos are very customizable. Customers can choose from 32 flavors of premium hand dipped ice cream and an array of toppings to create a two dip, three topping nachos. The nachos come with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry.
The ice cream shop is open noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.
6. Rip Rap Shake Shack 🍦
Location: 6010 Rip Rap Road in Dayton
Details: Rip Rap Shake Shack has just added ice cream nachos to their menu.
According to a post on the ice cream shop’s Facebook page, Jenna, the manager of Rip Rap Shake Shack, heard the demand and answered.
Rip Rap Shake Shack is open 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
